I was going to buy a second Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 3-Quart Chef's Pan with Cover and decided to go with the 5-1/2 Quart pan. I am glad I did. The size is perfect and I find just has versatile as the Chef's Pan. It's light weight and I love the two handle grips.
Given the price, I have no complaints of this pan and hope to use it for a long time.

Owned this item for last year or so. Use it everyday to make pasta sauce, fry chicken, saute, stir fry, poach, steam, etc. Everything cooks super well with medium to low heat. Sturdy weight but isn't too heavy like other pots. The light weight really helps when I have to hand wash this pot. Stainless steel means that food will stick, but that is called fond or "the good stuff" that enhances sauces and makes the meal better. After cooking your item, if you want sauce to accompany your meal, use a little stock (beef or chicken) in the pot at the same heat level. Bring to boil and the "stuck" pieces or bits at the bottom of the pot will be released and will beautifully flavor your food. Which makes clean up a breeze with soap and hot water. You can use the same method with water if you don't want to make sauce but want to clean those stuck pieces or bits. No elbow grease required. Use Bar Keeper's Friend to make the stainless steel shine like new. Buy with no regrets.

This pot is great for making soup. I love the bowl shape! It is easy to work with & cooks beautifully. So happy with this I bought a second one (at amazing price of $23) for my mom.
-edit: I forgot to mention that I use it on ceramic glass top & it works perfectly (heats quickly & evenly).

If you're worried about the unusual shape being a problem, forget about it. Any concern I had about the non-vertical sides making this pot tippy proved unfounded. it's as good at boiling pasta as it is simmering soup. I have, however, noticed small spots forming on the bottom (inside) of the pot. These could not be removed with barkeeper's friend. They're very small and I'm not too worried about it. But I know other reviewers have noted it and returned the item.
