"The blade was cracked and ready to break off" 2009-11-16
By Michael Geary (San Jose, CA)
When I first picked it up, this felt like a good solid knife, and the shape of the handle fit my hand very well. Unlike some other inexpensive santoku knives, it does have the dimples on both sides.

I cut some broccoli with it and noticed that the blade wobbled a bit. In fact, I could grab the blade and move it back and forth as if it were on a hinge. Then I saw the crack. At the front of the handle, where the metal narrows down to go between the black handle pieces, the blade was nearly cracked through, top and bottom. There was my "hinge".

The way the blade wobbled, it wouldn't take long for metal fatigue to carry that crack the rest of the way through and give the delightful experience of having the blade break off while using it.

Obviously, Cuisinart's Chinese manufacturer needs to tighten up their quality control a bit.

 "A Best Buy" 2010-03-01
By Jeffrey L. Patten (Tucson, AZ)
I'm a bargain hunter and I always look to buy the best quality I can afford for the lowest price I can find. In the February issue of "Cook's Illustrated", the America's Test Kitchen folk did an equipment review on Stock pots. They recommend a 12 quart size as being most universally useful, and that was what they tested. Unfortunately, the Cuisinart Multi-Clad wasn't one of those tested, but I think the results of what they did test speaks volumes. Their winner was All-Clad and I quote " . . . didn't have a single flaw - except a price tag over $300". Their "Best Buy" was the Cuisinart Chef's Classic, and again I quote "Very similar to All-Clad - except with a price tag well under $100". The Cuisinart Multi-Clad offers virtually the same features as All-Clad, with the aluminum core extending up the sides of the pot to provide more even heating, but like the Chef's Classic, with a price under $100. Getting top of the line features for mid-level pricing makes for a best buy in my opinion.

 "Cuisinart stock pot" 2009-11-15
By Sora
I purchased this pot to replace a 35 year old La Crueset 12 quart enameled cast iron pot. I use it mainly to put up preserves, and fruit butters. The enamel on the old pot had finally started to crack and peel off. Desparatly needed a new pot. Found this one on Amazon for an amazing price. I already have a Cuisinart set with a 7 quart the largest. So this one complements the team. It's much lighter and easier to clean and deal with than the old La Crueset. I love it.

 "Quality is missing" 2009-10-23
By Pop (New York)
I bought this pot and a few others in the set as a cheaper alternative to my All-Clad set. After a few uses, I see a lot of corrosion around the rivets, and bottom of pot. I know stainless steel can't rust, but something is strange with these pots. Maybe it will come off with bar keepers friend or the like, but I don't have this problem with my All-Clad collection. I still use them, but perhaps they are not using 18/10 stainless, but rather a cheaper 18/0 or 18/8 stainless which are more susceptible to corrosion. After all, what's the quality control in china?

 "Not cookware - it's a work of art!" 2009-07-06
By D. Donelson
I am completely, thoroughly impressed with this stockpot. It is built like a tank and is simply gorgeous. Just picking it up you know this is extremely high quality - it is rock solid and quite heavy. I have a Chef's Classic stock pot that seems to be made of tin foil compared to this beauty. The mirror finish and craftsmanship are superb - it really is a work of art in my opinion. Cooking in a pot like this makes the activity a special treat rather than just a routine experience one goes through to get food prepared.

Another thing I love about this pot is that even though the capacity is huge at 12 quarts the pot itself is wider (it's 11 and 1/2 inches wide) and shorter than a typical 8 quart pot. This makes it MUCH easier to stir or do any prep like browning chicken breast, meat cubes etc.

I could not possibly rate the pot higher, and to me it is definitely worth every penny and more. It's a legitimate lifetime purchase - with care I will never need to buy another pot as long as I live.

 "great" 2010-02-06
By Robyne L. Johnson (Smithfield,Va)
I ordered this stockpot about a month ago,and love it.I have made pasta sause several times. It retains heat well and everything cooks to perfection. No burnt garlic or onions.I start with burner on med. high, let pot heat up and add oil and the onions and garlic. I even turned down heat to med.and everything cooked exactly as it should.Simmering in this pot is so great.Holds heat and nothing burns or scorches.

It does however take a long time to bring water to a boil for pasta, filled half full, but I just figure this in when making my meal.Does a great job with homemade vegatable soup too.

Can't say enough about Amazon and the great prices they offer. Many times,my items are delivered earlier than I was told.Thank,Amazon

"Good pot when you're cooking, but not made the best." 2009-11-25
By J. Miller
I purchased this pot about 6 months ago and I've only used it about 5 times in that time making some soups or poaching chicken and works great for heat transfer and being more then roomy enough. But after only my 5th time using it the side of the pot cracked half the way down off one of the handle rivets. Stainless steel and the thing cracked in half from making soup?

 "Calphlon Stockpot" 2010-03-08
By Ed Oakley (Dallas, Texas)
This product is a sign of the times. I have had Calphlon cookware for 15 years before commercial high end cookware like this was not really popular for use in homes. I really love my "orginial" cookware which was manufactured in the USA. This piece like all new Calphlon is made in China. I have this same stockpot which I purchased years ago and it weighs twice as much as the new one. The wall thickness is much thinner than the orginial. Cooking in Commercial Aluminum is about heat distribution and the thicker walls is important. If I were buying all new cookware I would not be looking at this product to outfit my kitchen. Im sure that China could duplicate the quality but the company chose profits over quality in this case.

I bought this pot heavily discounted after Christmas but it's well worth the full price. I was amazed at how sturdy it is. I have used other pots of this size that warp and wobble even when full of water, causing it to heat unevenly, but this pot doesn't do that.

 "Great Stock Pot" 2010-02-10
By Michele Cannata (Mt. Shasta)
I love this stock pot. It fits on my stove (front burners). It's perfect for making alot of stock at one time. I simmer my stock for 24 to 72 hours and this pot really works. I love the glass lid with a steam release hole. This pot has a nice heavy bottom that can stand up to 72 hours or more of slow simmering with no burning. I would like to have known the base diameter before purchasing (I guessed it would fit and I'm glad that I guessed correctly.) With any stockpot the amount that it holds is always listed as though it were filled to the top. Of course this isn't practical. I can get a good 16 to 18 quarts out of this pot without it boiling over or getting too close to the top for my personal comfort. I hope you enjoy this stockpot as much as I'm enjoying it.

 "truly great value" 2010-01-26
By P. Fox
I had been on a search for the ideal "lobster/giant" pot for some time.

The Prime Pacific Stock Pot is far superior to its enameled cousins. It has a nice thick heat conducting base for even heating, which means that it's good for sauteeing onions, etc. for soups and chilis.

It's attractive, easy to clean, and contrary to other reviews, the handles seem sturdy enough for normal use.

It costs at least $100 less than the next step up.

 "Acceptable!" 2010-01-18
By C. Warren (Oklahoma City, Okla.)
The 21 Qt. stainless steel stock pot was what I wanted. It is acceptable! I have cooked one time, and am very satisfied with the results. The only objection is the rim that holds the glass cover; it is of very light construction. It was "dinged" when I opened the box it came in; however, a small problem that I can live with. I would recommend it to others.

 "Why buy aluminum?" 2010-01-04
By F. Smith (Franklin, NJ)
This really is a great pot. I am not sure why anyone would buy a cheap aluminum version when they have this. I use this one for home brewing beer and wine, but really you could make pasta in it if you felt like it. My only complaint is that the top is glass and it could possibly break, but so far I have no corrosion to report. Very happy.

 "Exactly What I Needed" 2010-03-06
By Jean Baraclough (Hagerstown, MD)
I bought three Cuisinart pans at the same time. I decided on this one instead of a Dutch oven and am so glad I did. I can cook almost anything in this pot. The size is generous. I love the slope of the side walls -- makes it really easy to work with whatever is in the pot. It moves easily from the stovetop to the oven, which was a priority for me. All handles and lids are oven-compatible. It isn't quite as heavy as I would have hoped, thus the four stars instead of five. But, it cleans easily, cooks evenly and is a perfect all-around pot.

"Multi Pot for multi uses!" 2010-01-25
By P. Taylor (Central PA)
I have had this pot for at least 3 years now. It comes in handy so many different times when I am cooking. I have been able to keep it looking brand new with a little Bar Keepers Friend when it is needed. It makes a great soup pot, chili pot, spaghetti sauce pot, it just seems like I am always pulling it out of the cupboard for one thing or another. It heats very evenly, has a nice heavy bottom and I love the glass lid so you can see what is going on in the pot without opening the lid. I had purchased a set of the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless Steel Cookware from a local store, THEN came home and checked out Amazon. Learned my lesson there, always check Amazon first! I got the set of pans considerably cheaper right here on Amazon than from the store and I got this very pot as a free bonus, sure couldn't beat that!! The store clerk when I returned it asked me why I was returning it. I told her I found it cheaper on Amazon, she said 'Oh you should always look there first."

Bought this pan at a major department store. Used the pan once to make pasta. Upon boiling the water we noticed spots inside the bottom of the pan. We quickly emptied the water and sure enough, the spots were still there. The three black spots would not clean up. It's almost as if the aluminum is defective. We'll be returning the pot for a full refund and we will be weary about Cuisinart cookware in the future.

 "better than I expected" 2009-05-04

What is the best is how easy it is to heat up things in this kettle. Saves time and energy.

"Great pan, well worth the money." 2009-01-30
By Chris Ryback (Northern Indiana)
We like the size, material and easy cleanup with this saucepot. The multiclad pro line really performs well. We use gas and it seems to take half the time to bring water to a boil as other non clad pans. It's durable and very handsome after extended usage.

 "good product" 2008-09-06
By Hank To (San Jose, CA. USA)
This line of cuisinart is very good. Not bad comparing to All-Clad stainless steel line. At much cheaper price, this is a bargain. The lid handle is a little bit cheap design. The rest is excellent. I like it.

 "Great cookware" 2007-12-21
By Kennie (Minneapolis, MN)
I ordered the saucepot based on a rave review from a friend and have no regrets. It cooks evenly and is easy to handle. I was lucky enough to find the 12 piece set for a reduced price of $189.99 on amazon and quickly snagged that as well.

"Great quality for a reasonable price" 2007-11-09
By B. C. Specht (Greensburg, PA United States)
I have a number of pieces of Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless cookware and I really love each one. I only wish I learned of this cookware before buying an entire set of another brand. You can't beat this line of cookware for quality and performance at a reasonable price. Like most of the multiclad cookware, it is stainless steel on the outside and inside of the pot or pan with a layer of heat-conducting aluminum sandwiched in between for excellent heat conductivity all across the bottom and all the way up the sides of the vessel. I think the quality of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless cookware is on a par with the oh-so-pricey All Clad cookware. It heats quickly and evenly with no hot spots or scorching. You don't need to gun up your burners to their highest settings. With only medium-high heat, you can create beautifully browned meats, fish, caramelized onions, mushrooms, etc. Turn the heat low and create smooth, perfect bechemel or other sauces with no worry of scorching. This cookware will do it all just as well as All Clad and it won't break the bank. My only complaint about it is that the sauce and stock pots and the 3-quart saute pan are a little smaller than their claimed size. This 6-Quart Saucepot with Cover, for instance, only holds 5 1/2 quarts measured to the rim. But, if that 1/2 quart difference isn't a problem, then this is an excellent, highly usable and versatile pot for doing soups, stews, braising, cooking sauces, pasta or any number of cooking tasks. The handles are generously sized and firmly attached. The pot has a convenient curved pouring lip so hot liquids won't run down the outside of the pot when you are trying to pour pasta into a colander or bubbling hot soups into a serving bowl. The lid fits snugly onto the pot to help hold in moisture while simmering or braising. The pot can go right from the stove top into the oven because it is all stainless steel on the outside. I preheat my pans over medium heat for 3 minutes before adding cooking oil (and a little butter) and then I add the food to be browned. Clean-up is easy. Deglaze any stuck-on bits of food or let it soak with some water before washing in hot, sudsy water. Use some Bartenders Friend cleanser for stainless steel to keep these pans looking like knew.
